Settings, Rebuilt

Settings

Settings has been rebuilt. Backup & Restore, Help & Support and About now sit together in a System group, each on its own screen, and a new Delete All Data option clears the app out from one place.

Adding items

Add Location remembers the last shop, aisle and section you used, so a run of items going to the same place takes far fewer taps.

Reminders

A reminder now says where to find the item — the notification names the place as well as the thing.

Google Drive Backup

Restoring from a Google Drive backup works reliably again. Backing up was never affected — if a restore did not go through for you before, it will now.

Also

Menu switches take effect straight away instead of waiting for a restart. Fixes a keyboard gap at the bottom of the list, and the download is smaller. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

More Reliable Backup

Google Drive Backup

Sign-in has been rebuilt on Android’s current standard, making it more reliable. When something does go wrong, backup now shows a clear one-line message with a Tap here for help link instead of raw technical output — and Restore is always available while you are signed in.

Reminders

  • The app now asks for notification permission before you pick a date and time — and if notifications are off, it explains how to turn them back on instead of failing silently
  • Reminders can no longer be set in the past

Settings

A new About section shows the app version with quick links to the privacy policy and terms of use. Help & Support now sits at the bottom of the screen, just above it.

Also

Fixed Portuguese texts on the main screen. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

Confetti Actually Fires

Confetti

Finish a list with a shop filter on and it now celebrates. It never did before: the app was measuring every item in your list rather than the ones you could see, so a filtered list that looked finished never counted as finished.

Smaller Things

  • Group headers show a caret in Edit mode, so it is clear they collapse
  • Tapping + with an empty box opens the keyboard instead of doing nothing
  • The home screen widget now honours your shop filter
  • Norwegian added

Bug Fixes

Google Drive sign-in now tells you when it has failed, instead of appearing to do nothing at all.
