Simple To Do List for Android — What's New

v3.0.4 — October 7, 2026

Templates

Templates (Premium)

Ready-made to-do lists for the big one-off jobs, added in a tap. Home: Moving House, Buying a Home, Selling the House, Renovation and Garden Makeover. Life Admin: Passport & ID, Sort Your Money, Affairs in Order, Tax Time and Buying a Car. Life Events: New Baby, Wedding Planning, New Job, Job Hunt, Getting a Pet and Exam Prep. Occasions: Birthday Party, Christmas, Holiday Prep, Dinner Party and Back to School.

Open one from From a template… on the add screen, or Browse templates on an empty project. Tick the tasks you want, or all of them at once, and search inside a template to find one. They go straight into the project you have open, filed under categories of the same name, which are created if you do not have them yet. Anything already in the project is skipped, even if you typed it yourself, and the whole lot can be undone. Enable Templates in Settings turns them off.

Fixes and polish

  • An empty project in To Do mode now shows Nothing here yet, with a way to templates, and All done! only shows when everything is ticked
  • Emoji search knows every template task, in every language
  • The Premium screen shows Templates, and its Go Premium button stays in reach at the bottom
  • The widget’s header icon no longer dwarfs the title
  • Many smaller fixes and tidy-ups throughout

v3.0.3 — September 23, 2026

Projects, and a New Way to Add

Projects (Premium)

Turn on Enable Projects in Settings and each project gets its own to-do list. The Projects screen shows a card for each one with its picture and an optional due date. Projects can be edited, duplicated, reordered by dragging or deleted (with undo), and the name in the app bar switches between them. A project with a due date can remind you as it gets close, and the reminder says how many tasks are still to do. The home screen widget can be set to a project when you add it. Categories are shared across all your projects. With Projects off, the app works exactly as before.

In Progress

Mark a task In Progress from its menu and it keeps a faint highlight, so you can see at a glance what you are working on.

Adding tasks

Adding tasks is all new, for everyone. Type a task and press Enter for the next line, or paste a whole list and each line becomes a task. Nothing is added until you tap the button, so you can correct or remove rows first, and the whole batch can be undone in one go. Premium users can pick the category and subcategory along the top of the screen.

Pictures

Tasks and categories can have a picture, chosen from hundreds of emoji and searchable in every language the app supports. Prefer plain text? Task Pictures in Settings hides them.

Settings

  • Search Settings to find any option
  • Premium users can drag the sections into their own order
  • Enable Subcategories is now its own switch, under Enable Categories
  • New options: To Do Mode First, Allow Projects To Be Deleted and Hide Tip

Fixes and polish

  • Delete Checked Items can now be undone
  • Reminders are included in backups again, and are set up again after a restore
  • Removing a category from a project can be undone
  • The widget's header tap works again
  • The To Do and All chips no longer collide with the icons beside them in longer languages
  • Many smaller fixes and tidy-ups throughout

v3.0.2 — September 9, 2026

Settings, Rebuilt

Settings

Settings has been rebuilt and everything is grouped in one place. Backup & Restore, Help & Support and About now live inside Settings rather than being scattered around the app.

Starting out

New installs now open with an example week already filled in, so the app shows what it is for instead of an empty screen. If you would rather start clean, it goes in a single tap.

Reminders

A reminder now shows which list the item belongs to, so several reminders in your notification shade no longer look identical.

Fixes

Undo after deleting an item now restores its category as well, rather than bringing the item back on its own. Dark mode corrections throughout, and the download is smaller. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.1 — September 2, 2026

More Reliable Backup

Google Drive Backup

Sign-in has been rebuilt on Android’s current standard, making it more reliable — and the automatic daily backup works again. When something goes wrong, backup shows a clear one-line message with a Tap here for help link, and Restore is always available while you are signed in.

Reminders

  • The app asks for notification permission before you pick a date and time — and if notifications are off, it explains how to turn them back on
  • Reminders can no longer be set in the past

Settings & Polish

Help & Support now sits at the bottom of Settings, just above About. Adding a task no longer squashes the entry bar when the keyboard opens, new tasks default to the category you filed the last one under, and the welcome task now appears in your language. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.0 — August 21, 2026

Categories, and one Premium purchase

  • Categories and subcategories. Group tasks by category and again by subcategory, collapse the groups you are not working on, and filter the list to one category at a time. Part of Premium, and switchable off for a plain list.
  • Premium is now a single purchase. Categories, no ads and Google Drive backup together. Anyone who already bought Remove Ads or Enable Backup keeps what they paid for and gets categories as well.
  • Reminders fire again. A notification channel was lost in the 2.0 rewrite, which stopped reminders from appearing on Android 8 and later.
  • Backups now include your categories and settings, not just your tasks.
  • Settings gained Categories, Behaviour and Action Menu sections, so you can choose what appears in the list menu and where drag handles show.
