Simple To Do List — What's New

v3.0.2 — September 9, 2026

Settings, Rebuilt

Settings

Settings has been rebuilt and everything is grouped in one place. Backup & Restore, Help & Support and About now live inside Settings rather than being scattered around the app.

Starting out

New installs now open with an example week already filled in, so the app shows what it is for instead of an empty screen. If you would rather start clean, it goes in a single tap.

Reminders

A reminder now shows which list the item belongs to, so several reminders in your notification shade no longer look identical.

Fixes

Undo after deleting an item now restores its category as well, rather than bringing the item back on its own. Dark mode corrections throughout, and the download is smaller. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.1 — September 2, 2026

More Reliable Backup

Google Drive Backup

Sign-in has been rebuilt on Android’s current standard, making it more reliable — and the automatic daily backup works again. When something goes wrong, backup shows a clear one-line message with a Tap here for help link, and Restore is always available while you are signed in.

Reminders

  • The app asks for notification permission before you pick a date and time — and if notifications are off, it explains how to turn them back on
  • Reminders can no longer be set in the past

Settings & Polish

Help & Support now sits at the bottom of Settings, just above About. Adding a task no longer squashes the entry bar when the keyboard opens, new tasks default to the category you filed the last one under, and the welcome task now appears in your language. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.0 — August 21, 2026

Categories, and one Premium purchase

  • Categories and subcategories. Group tasks by category and again by subcategory, collapse the groups you are not working on, and filter the list to one category at a time. Part of Premium, and switchable off for a plain list.
  • Premium is now a single purchase. Categories, no ads and Google Drive backup together. Anyone who already bought Remove Ads or Enable Backup keeps what they paid for and gets categories as well.
  • Reminders fire again. A notification channel was lost in the 2.0 rewrite, which stopped reminders from appearing on Android 8 and later.
  • Backups now include your categories and settings, not just your tasks.
  • Settings gained Categories, Behaviour and Action Menu sections, so you can choose what appears in the list menu and where drag handles show.
